Southern Africa - Y-Africa? & the Y-Malawi? Project
Y-Malawi is a groundbreaking model for partnership between a growing number of churches in the US and frontline Christian organizations in Africa, including World Vision, Opportunity International, Fishers Trainers Senders, and the Nkhoma Youth Department. Our objective is to provide community-wide, sustainable development and transformation in the areas of water and food security, healthcare, education, evangelism & discipleship, youth programs, and economic development, including micro-finance. - (Pictured: Agogo (Grandpa) Johno in Malawi in conjunction with Y-Malawi?)
With a geographically targeted strategy, our initial focus is on a group of villages in one of the poorest areas of Malawi called Nkhoma, comprising nearly 50,000 people. From there, through a partnership of 100+ churches, the goal is to have 10 other village areas in Malawi to prove the model, then to spread to more of Africa through Y-Malawi's big vision which we call Y-Africa?. The needs in Africa are great, but with tens of thousands of Bible-believing churches in the US, we believe together we can make a difference that can literally transform the people of Africa and how our US churches are engaged.

Mississippi Gulf Coast, USA Camp Hope Hurricanne Relief
FaithQuest helps to mobilize churches and teams for relief work through the Camp Hope project in Pass Christian, Mississippi. More than 15 groups of men, fathers and sons, and many women too have heeded God's call to serve others in their hour of need in this nearly wiped out community. They have invested their lives and been moved and changed in powerful ways by connecting and serving poor families whose homes have been flooded and made uninhabitable who have no means of helping themselves. Camp Hope teams strip homes of destroyed furniture, carpets, drywall and insulation, then join in the restoration of the home toward making it livable once again.
Pictured: Sam and Esther and their two teenage sons were living in the tent shown in the photo for 4 months after their 400 square foot home was flooded by Hurricane Katrina, destroying everything they own and filling the house with mold. Through previous tragedy, they were both disabled and unable to do anything about their situation either physically or financially. A group of father's and sons (including fathers Rik Mumma, John Gash, and Barry Bridges shown on either side of Sam and Esther) and their sons were blessed to be able to find and help this family with their situation. Students from Saddleback Valley Christian Schools sent a load handmade scarves we passed on to folks like Sam and Esther (camo ones for the boys!) who received them and the work help with tears of joy. We don't know who was more blessed...them or us!
